FOTOLIA UNVEILS MAJOR REDESIGN

New York, NY, August 22, 2011, 2 – Today, Europe’s leading online stock photography agency released a major update to their website. Fotolia.com’s worldwide relaunch features improved search functionality, navigation and usability. New features include faceting of search results and a function to set price limits.

Fotolia.com’s new design is clean and efficient, and ensures an even smoother user experience. Important information is displayed permanently on every page, and the new menu structure now uses drop down menus and makes navigation much simpler. In addition, the extended search functions will improve efficiency and workflow of image research significantly.

The new dashboard is a central control panel, which offers buyers and contributors unique interfaces. Buyers see information about credits, subscriptions and purchases, while contributors see their portfolio statistics and sales.

Faceting of search results – in addition to the number of results within the image library, the hits within context-specific categories are now also displayed. For example, while the term “business meeting”, may return over 100,000 results, faceting helps break down the results into more specific categories, such as “people” and “technology”. Now clients will find desired images even faster.

The keyword launch feature helps users to find images, even if they can’t think of relevant words for those images. Users receive suggestions for appropriate keywords and can combine them with new keywords to reveal the perfect images.

Search in categories has been improved and now integrates subcategories. Clients will receive precise results at faster speeds.

The ‘recency’ filter shows search results by date of upload. Users will be shown only the newest images relevant to their search term.

The new price limit feature gives users full control of their budget. It allows the user to define a maximum price, starting at just $0.75 per image.

“Usability, Efficiency, Discovery – these are the three guiding principles are at the core of the new Fotolia website. Our clients receive immediate access to the images they need – images that simply won’t be found with conventional search,” says Oleg Tscheltzoff, co-founder and CEO of Fotolia.
